The development of the institute in the future will be focused on the followings:
1. Educating traffic enforcement, and road traffic accident investigation and reconstruction professionals to maintain the traffic order and safety.
2. Enhancing traffic laws and enforcement studies to understand their applicability and modify them if necessary.
3. Studying selected traffic safety problems to analyze, compare, and develop better strategies for enforcement units.
4. Studying modern traffic engineering and control techniques to work with better traffic enforcement to improve the performance.
5. Applying management science and traffic behavior and psychology in the traffic enforcement and management techniques to meet the need as a democratic society.
6. Purchasing advanced investigation and research equipment to inspire the motives of conducting new researches. Enhancing the participation in academic activities to lead and improve the traffic enforcement and management technologies in the traffic police practice.

For the purposes of integrating the traffic professional techniques in different fields, the institute plans to establish a traffic research center to focusing on traffic accident investigation and reconstruction in the future. Also this institute plans to establish a traffic laboratory to study traffic safety related problems and offer workshops for in-field training for police forces in the future.
